HMRC change of stance on life policy gains for bare trusts
Following legal advice, HMRC has announced a revised approach to chargeable event gains where a life policy is held on a bare trust for minor beneficiaries. The new stance will apply to chargeable events from 6 April 2007 onwards and so could affect 2007/08 tax returns already submitted.

Irish government guarantee
